    QuickBooks Accountant 2018

    Long story short, I need to issue invoices for sales tax that was not included on the June 2019 invoices. This is part of a VDA agreement with the state. I cannot go back and just add the sales tax to the invoices for several reasons including some of the invoices already being paid.

    How do I create an invoice for just sales tax and not have it show up as sales in July 2019 P&L?

    Figured out how to make it work. Have to love QuickBooks.

      To calculate the sales tax that is included in a company's receipts, divide the total amount received (for the items that are subject to sales tax) by "1 + the sales tax rate". In other words, if the sales tax rate is 6%, divide the sales taxable receipts by 1.06.
