  • Customer Opening Balances

    Hi

    I have just taken over doing the bookkeeping for my company. The previous employee has set up Quickbooks Online entering all customer details but did not put in opening balances. I now have a number of payments into our bank account that relate to invoices that are prior to Quickbooks being set up. How do I now relate those payments to customers by setting opening balances. The bank opening balance has been correctly entered, they just forgot to set customer opening balances. Thanks for any help that can be given.

    Create a service item and link it to opening balance equity
    use that on an invoice back dated to the start of the file, then receive payment against that invoice
