    I have regular old premier edition.

    My client has sent me an accountant's review file created on the retail edition.

    I can't get it to open. The error is that "no data file has been created."

    Do I need retail version to open the file??

    Are you trying to just open the file, or are you using the "Start using accountant's copy" function?

    Are you both on the same release year (2005, 2006, etc.)

      start using accountant's copy.

      both are on release 06.

      I did try to open it in Enterprise 05 just for the heck of it. It didn't work there likely due to Enterprise being v05.
