After the Fact payroll

is there an easy way to input after the fact payroll. we put in customers work after the checks have been written.

What do you mean by "Easy"? It's not hard at all. It also depends on what you want to be able to get out of the system later also. Do you want to be able to run payroll reports or just have an accurate GL?

A great payroll program which includes ATF Payroll and all state returns,is AME their no. is 760.738.3720. Also WWW.amesoft.com. I can't recommend it too highly/

I guess I missed something. How is using that software for his after the fact payroll, that has already been done, going to get the numbers into QuickBooks? Does that program interface with QuickBooks? Is it easier to use than manually entering the paychecks into the payroll area of QuickBooks? I'm just not familiar with that program at all.

I just visited their web site and their program for payroll with one state starts at $199 and it doesn't say anything about an interface with QuickBooks so one would still have to re-enter the payroll transactions into the QB program. That's more expensive than the payroll subscription now.

Yes we currently use AME.. the Dos version is great.. the windows version is lacking. Yes we need to run reports etc.
AME allows us to input payroll afte the fact by putting in gross wages, the take out the taxes. when QB figures the taxes not allways what was actually withheld from employee check. I see that i can adjust the figures but seems cumbersome.

The AME program produces various reports among them is a recap of the payroll activity. I take the recap and post via journal entry, the numbers in total into QB.

The program allows for imputting gross pay and net pay and the rest of the deductions are calculated. Any difference is adjusted thru FITW.

It is our attempt not to use two different programs. We have used ame for several years but have become disenchanted with their conversion to windows. Other than that it is a great program. and intuit seems to buy all the competition.

I believe that there is not an easy one step method to do this.

I don't understand the problem, I guess. The payroll subcription in QuickBooks costs less than the price of the program you are using now and you can use it for after the fact payroll entry. I do it all the time.

In our old program you can put the payroll and assign a check number inany order, it appears that in QB is put themin alphabetical order, and then assigns the check. small hurdles in learning a new program. QB is more cumbersom in putting in after the fact PR. we will figure it out eventually..
