Accounting for vat before registration
I believe i can account for vat for the last 6 months worth of services. How do i go about this using quickbooks. I have 4 services that vat can be reclaimed, each service appears in a register once a month. I have only recently turned my vat on in quickbooks. What is the correct way to account for this.

Hi dave
A few more questions because its not only VAT you account for! Can you say what the four services are please. Is your business a Ltd company or are you a sole proprietor?

OK, as i understand it i can claim the vat back on services such as adt alarm/ monthly equipment hire, ie streamline machine rentals, + telephone bills.
They are after all services. If they are only a few pence i WILL claim them all! |

Seems to be a bit more indepth than i first thought, with these questions! Looking forward to your reply.
a) Registered for VAT from 1 Nov. b) My year end is 31 March c) I did not account in any way for vat before this date. On the 1 Nov I turn this feature of quickbooks on. Thanks in advance Dave. |
