Question Proposal / Estimate Layout

Hi, I'm new to the forum.
We use QB Pro 2000.

Currently we do not use estimates in our job but we are getting ready to use them. I've used the layout designer to customize our estimates and we actually changed them to proposals.

Here's my problem.
We are customizing our proposals based on a proposal that was shown to us and it will work well for our needs but I'm having a hard time figuring out if QB Pro will allow me to make such changes.

To make things easier here I'm attaching a scanned image of a proposal that we would like to use or at least use some of the features from it.

The main issues I'm trying to address are:

Is it possible to show a sub total?
Is it possible to have fields/columns for each item such as freight, crating, installation, other and sales tax?
And finally is it possible to have a field/column that states, "deposit requested"?

Hope I wasn't too confusing in my questions or description of what we are trying to accomplish. Thank you in advance for any help that can be offered.

Danielle

1.You can create a Subtotal item and use it on you estimate
2.You can customize the Estimate template by going to Lists/Templates, right click on some invoice tempalte, choose Duplicate, select Estimate, click on OK, double-click on that new template and customize it

Thank you for your help.

I've created the duplicate but I think my knowledge of quick books is a little lacking, as I cannot find where I can add the "subtotal" item.
Do I use the "fields" or "columns" to add the subtotal field that I need?
Thanks again for any help.

It's a line item you have to create. You can go to Lists/Item List, go to Item button and choose New, Choose Subtotal for Item Type... etc.
