Hi
I am disappointed that QB Enterprise has an old school mentality on access to the software in terms of installs v concurrent users in that QB has continued an old school mentality of restrictions based on installs of software rather than the more common restricts based on users All other packages (accounting or other) that we have server based are all based on concurrent users. In this way we have the software as part of a SOE and then as a user needs they log into the software and the restriction is based on number of users able to access the software. This aids in reducing IT service time in updating and installing software on various machines I have a number of users (over 5) that only need to access for reporting - so maybe once or twice a week. The cost of buying extra licence for these seems crazy when QB could update their software to enable common access rights What are other users doing to assist this? please contact me outside of the forum if needed Trent |

You should look into using RDS where the program isn't installed on users machines but rather just on the server.
http://http-download.intuit.com/http...Whitepaper.pdf You just set up a common user name for people to access the reporting (with the proper restrictions in place). The only problem they will have is if they try to log on at the same time.
