Importing Checks

Hi All!

I have a unique situation in that my company has a second set of QB's used soley to write checks out of for one of our departments. At the end of the period I have to reenter all the checks from that QB's into the main QB's used for reporting which takes forever!! Does anyone know of a way to import the checks written from one set of QB's to another QB's? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could use one of the QuickBooks third party data utilities that will allow you to export checks from one company file to a spreadsheet and then import them into another company file. We have written one called Zed Axis it is a free trial

You should look at joining the computers over a local network, and only use one Data File.

This would eliminate having to import the checks as they would be issued from the main set of books
