Payroll doesn't deduct taxes.

I'm new in the company. Previos bookkeeper is in hospital and I have nobody to help me.
I need to do payroll and when I'm doing this, the taxes =0. I checked prevoiuse payroll done by my colleague they are OK and have tax exempt. What may be the problem? Why does it happen? I'm doing unscheduled payroll.
Please help!
