Can i transfer program without cd

Hi, about 5 years ago i purchased a 2nd hand pc that had quickbooks pro on it. I have been using it fine but now i have upgraded my pc. Is there a way to transfer it to my new pc. I have a feeling the quickboooks i have was already on another pc as well as mine when i got it. I have no idea who registered it or if its legal or otherwise. I dont wanna call QB and give the rego numbwer in case i lose all 5 years of data.

Well first, so long as you take care of your company file it will be sepaate from the QB execution code. Weather or not QB slaps your fingers your company file is not at risk.

But what I would do is purchase the latest version of QB, keep the CD safe so when you upgrade machines again you have a way to install QB on the new machine.

That way you know you have the latest version, have the capability to keep it updated, and know you are running legal.
