Quickbooks & Quickbooks POS
I work for a company which manages parking lots on behalf of owners.
This is a very low tech business with very little invested in technology. All cashiered locations use simple cash registers to record transactions. Paper reports, completed by hand are forwarded to the home office for accounting to record daily activity. My instinct is that Quickbooks POS could automate much of this and bring greater efficiency and internal control to the whole process. My questions are: How does QB POS communicate with QB? Our locations are located all over the city with some out of state. Are you tied into Intuit's merchant bank service in order to process credit cards? We already have our own service, but use separate Omni devices to process. Having this built into QB POS would be a benefit. Can anyone comment on the strength of QB POS's internal controls? i.e. closing out the cash drawer each night, summarizing the days activity, changing shifts etc. Can anyone refer me to some QB POS resources where I can continue my research? I didn't find much here or Googling? Thanks CB |

While I'm no expert of QB POS, I have some knowledge of the product.
And my gut tells me that this would be a massive under taking, and be very, very costly. For what is worth, logistics, implementation, and staff training would be a nightmare, unless you have the financial resources, and the staff to complete this undertaking. Just my personal opinion.

It would probably be easier to have each lot have a register that would print a Z-tape at the end of their shift or end of day and then have them forwarded to the home office to be inputted into QuickBooks.
