Quickbooks Pro VERY slow to start

We have Quickbooks Pro 2010/2011 running on a Windows 7 PC. Starting Quickbooks for the first time every day is a "go make a cup of coffee" exercise - regardless of the location of the data file (the main one is on a Samba share mounted in Windows).

Most of the posts I see are for the data files being slow loading, which is not the problem; once Quickbooks has started, it's quite quick to load.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Hello, I have QBPro 2012 and it always loaded pretty quick on computer (8mb ram). Not sure it there is a connection but today I had to download Java and when I tried to load QB it took ages to load. In fact I thought the computer had crashed or something. It did eventually. I have now uninstalled Java and it seems to be back to loading fine and quick. I will need Java again. It is a pain because it means I will have to install and uninstall Java everytime I need to use it. This may be the problem you are having, but would appreciate if anyone has a permanent solution?!
