Correct opening balance of checking account
When we do the bank reconciliation for the very first month of data entered, the opening balance is thousands of dollars off.
In the checkbook register the running balance is correct but that is not what is showing up in the reconciliation screen. Data for previous months had been entered, but it had all been deleted from the register. All entries are done through the register as deposits and checks--there are no journal entries, bills, invoices, etc. |

It sounds as if the Opening Balance for the bank account was entered into the register as a deposit. If this is correct, then when reconciling it just check that deposit also.
