Clearing year-to-date payroll balances at year-end

QB automatically returns all the accumulated amounts to zero when you create paychecks in the new year. Do I have to print W-2s for last year before I do the first payroll of the new year?

Smile Payroll YTD

QB keeps up to 100 years of YTD information for payroll.
It isn't reset on the new year. Instead, it just starts using a new bucket for each employee for the new year. This is nice, as you can see the YTD for last year if you want.
Also note that most QB reports and forms use the actual transaction data to report on.
