Post-closing Trial Balance

Is there a way to print a Post-Closing Trial Balance? I've closed my fiscal year, but when I print a trial balance as of the last day, it still shows expenses and income. I've tried filtering for "Balance Sheet Accounts only", but that doesn't work (retained earnings does not reflect the years net profit/loss).

I think I can get the result I want by reporting as of the 1st day of the new year, but ONLY if there are NO transactions on that date. I'd think this would be a commonly-wanted report (or have accounting procedures changed so much since I studied them 30 years ago), but if QB offers it, I can't find it.

I'm using QB Premier Accountant Edition 2007

Thanks,
~kyle

No, it's not available since you don't have to actually close to RE, QB just does it automatically based on the report date. So you have found one workaround - run it for Jan 1, but that won't work if you have any reversing accruals which will be dated Jan 1.

Another option would be to run it for just the balance sheet accounts, send it to Excel and edit retained earnings there.
