For Things Going Overseas We Have To Invoice Prior To Shipping, When The "projection" Of What Fits Into The Container Changes I Have To Change The Sales Order & Change The Invoice. Sometimes This Means Adding To It, Then The Sales Order Doesn't Close. Is There Any Way To Add To The Sales Order And Change The Invoice Without Having An Open Sales Order?

Can you leave the transaction on a Sales Order until you are sure what you need before invoicing? A Sales Order should close when everything has been invoiced.

In most cases yes I can leave3 the sales order until I am sure what to ship. Sometimes I invoice something after it has gone out on UPS and the customer calls back and says hey add this to the order and I have to chase down the UPS driver to put it on the truck with it. So to me the additional order should go on the same sales order, and should be invoiced with the original order. But after you have invoiced I don't know of any way to add onto the invoice from the sales order, or from another sales order. Any ideas?

If you have invoiced and the package has shipped I think I would create an additional invoice for the add-on, but I don't see why you would need a Sales Order.
You could probably delete the first invoice and create a new one from the updated Sales Order if you really need to use a Sales Order.

Thanks, I know I can do that, we were looking to see if there was a way to do it this way specifically, if not that's fine, but if there is a way to do it this way I would like to know about it.
Thanks for your time. |
