Location Field In Item Master

Hello Everyone.

We are a small distribution company in FL USA. We have the lastest version of QB Pro 2008.

I am working in the ITEM LIST trying to get inventory working correctly. I go to customize columns in this list and I see (to my surprize) a LOCATION field.
But then I can find no way to access this field. Does anyone know a way to have it come up to be completed when entering or editing INVENTORY items?

If not, does anyone know why it is there? How is it used?

Thanks,

Steve

When you edit the inventory item, does it show a custom field for Location??

The location field is only used for Fixed Asset items. You can create a custom field for items and enter the location in it.

Thanks Karl,

I see it now on the fix asset list. I couldn'd give up looking for it until I knew it could not be used in the way I wanted to (sure would hav ebeen nice since the custom col won't work for us). I would have spent a couple more hours trying to make it work without your help.

so thanks again

steve

I am trying to find/create another field that I can enter long text in that will continuously pull that same info when an item is added to a sales orders. I would like this field to print on sales orders, but not print on invoices. Is there a way to do this?

I have used the custom fields for this in the past and it works, but I now have more data than those fields can hold. Would like a field that I can put additional info in where the text will wrap.

Any suggestions?
