any other suggestions: open register uses former bank account

Thanks if you've already replied. Have tried best suggestions exactly as explained; however, still same perhaps glitch. At some point will just continue to live with, but a quirky little nuisance.

Once again, when I click on the icon or drop menu for REG (checking register) it defaults to former bank account which has been long ago put into an inactive state. Have tried going to VIEW, CUSTOMIZE removed, even tried closing QB and restarting, all to no change. Further suggestions appreciated.

When you say default, do you mean it's the first account listed to open a register for?

If yes, open up your chart of accounts. Be sure to "show all accounts". Drag the old inactivated account to the bottom of the "banks". Or drag the account you do want it to default to, to the top.

Try this:

Open your checking acct. You can click on
-Lists -Chart of Accounts
in the drop down menu, then
double click checking (or the name of your checking acct)
to find it.

Next in the drop down menu, click
View
Add ___________________ to icon bar
You can change the name to say register or checking or whatever you want (I use CKG to save space).
Now you can click on this item in your icon bar whenever you want to "use register"

You can add ANY WINDOW you want to the icon bar, making everything you need ready access.
