Adaptive Server Anywhere Database Engine ERROR

I've been lately getting an error called:

ADAPTIVE SERVER Anywhere Database Engine

It's not consistent but sometimes it occurs when I'm trying to get into my file and then I have to abort and then I'm not able to get into my file at all. Sometimes it happens when I'm trying to create a backup of the file.

Can somebody help me figure out what this error is and how to fix it without having to reinstall QB Pro 2007.

Does nobody have an answer on this???

I finally gave up and decided to uninstall QuickBooks Pro 2007 and re-install it. Well, guess what?? I am still getting the same intermittent problem. I had subscribed to the Payroll Plus program (or whatever it's called) where I receive a new copy of QB every October. Well, October is just around the corner and if QB Pro 2008 still gives me these same issues, then Microsoft Accounting Pro, here I come..
