QB Pro 2204 vs Internet Explorer

Is there a problem between IE 7 and QB Pro 2004?

I received this from Intuit:
Internet Explorer 7 and QuickBooks Financial Software

http://accountant.intuit.com/doublec...ages/top01.gif
The following QuickBooks financial software products will work with Internet Explorer 7.
  • QuickBooks 2007 and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 7.0
  • QuickBooks 2006 and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6.0 when updated to Release 8
  • QuickBooks 2005 in a future update. Please check www.QuickBooks.com/support/IE7 periodically for updates on a solution.
  • QuickBooks Online Edition
  • QuickBooks Point of Sale versions 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0
Note that unless otherwise noted, when we say “QuickBooks” we are talking about the Windows desktop versions of QuickBooks financial software, including Simple Start, Basic (last produced in 2005), Pro, and Premier. We also identify the corresponding version of Enterprise Solutions.
QuickBooks 2004 and prior versions will not function properly on Internet Explorer 7.

Thanks Suzanne, I thought I saw somethig but couldn't find it when I went looking. Since the world revolves around Microsoft and I don't want to get left behind, this will force a QuickBooks update. Now to decide which one fit's us best.

I believe you can go back to IE 6. That might be an option. Check the Microsoft webiste as I think they may have info on that.

Thumbs up

Yes, I updated and then went back to IE 6. Long term solution is to bite the bullet and update and avoid problems. Obviously Microsoft will have other updates and sooner or later I will fall far behind needed updates.

Haha, I just noticed I titled this 2204 vs IE7. Boy time flys when your having fun!

You said you updated...but 2204 is extreme updating!
Since QB2004 is not going to be supported much longer I doubt if they will make it compatible iwth IE7, so upgrading now might be a good time.

Just a reminder. MS Vista comes with IR 7.0 and you CANNOT uninstall it and install IE 6.0. Therefor QuickNooks 2004 and older WILL NOT run on Vista!!

Yes QuickBooks, some times I just cannot spell anything correctly!
There is an eariler post in the RAGs from QBSROX, that stated that ONLY QuickBooks 2007 will run on Vista because of security changes in the operating system.
