Its expensive and you can't customize it. I was looking at SAP. Have you looked at any other solutions?

Since this post, I've been working a lot with quickbooks and I'm very pleased with it's performance. I've also llooked at dac easy and peach tree. Peach tree is good but quickbooks is much better. Regarding SAP, my opinion is that it's not the tool for small and medium size businesses, even though they claim they can be. Quickbooks has no competition, in my opinion. Intuit should go more global faster, that's my only complaint, but I also believe it's going to flood the global market and I hope they have the appropriate strategy. Integration is also a neat feature in quickbooks.

SAP Business One can absolutely be modified
Hi All,
I know this thread is a littel old......but I didn't want any misinformation to be on the internet . Anyhow, SAP Business One can absolutely be modified/customised. Now I am an SAP Partner so this may appear biased but these are the facts:- Forms can be modified (and to a far greater extent then any quickbooks forms) - SAP have provided an SDK (software development kit). It is possible to create both DI and UI enchancements. The fact is some 400+ add-ons have been developed by third parties that integrate with SAP Business One. - UDF (user-defined fields), UDT (user-defined tables) & UDO (user-defined objects) can be added to SAP Business One by customers (not developers) in a matter of minutes. - User defined queries (known as formatted searches- FS) can also be added to any field. This means that the customers can create their own business logic. E.g. A new invoice is started. In the remarks field of the invoice a FS is created that looks up the customers card and copies across their telephone number. - Each user can set up their window/form layouts how they want. - Workflow logic can be added to the system. e.g. a sales employee enters a quote that has a gross profit < 10%. The quote is sent to the supervisor for approval. ......plus much more For a great example of how modification can be made check out www.b1up.net In my experience SAP Business One is the most flexible system that exists for small-medium business. I think Quickbooks is great for Micro-Small Business but SAP Business One is the best for Small-Medium Business. Hope that clears things up a little. Canbexta |
