Group items

Can some one give me the skinny on this ? I want to try and group items (like an assembly) but don't know much about grouping items.

FYI: I sell first-aid kits, they can be bought assembled or seperated. I want to run all my inventory thru pro 2005.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Are you using the Manufacturing & Wholesale version?

Not sure

I am not sure. I bought Quick books pro 2005, that's all I know.

What's the easiest way to find out ?

Thanks

Group questions

Ok, now I know a little bit more. Here are some general questions.

FYI: I sell assemblied kits and single items, both have different pricing.

If you buy a kit you get a better deal on each items price.

Say you sell a kit for 19.95.
Shipping is 5.95
Tax is 5.0

I know how much the items
cost me but don't know how much each item is priced, since the total is all that I really care about. I had to change the price on one item to get my kit total to equal 19.95. Is that ok ? The state still gets the tax money of 5.95.

I am just worried that if I change the price on something in the group it will bit me down the road. Some items I have left at zero just so I can adjust the amount they cost to equal the end total.

Hope some of this makes sense. I just don't know what effect changing a items price will do down stream.

Thanks in advance.

If you've got Pro, it's not Manufacturing & Wholesale because that's a Premier version. Look under your items, New, and see if you have a GROUP type available there?
