Can QB keep track of more files than just estimates and invoices?

Hi

Right now I have 2 types of files in QB - "Estimates and "Invoices".
Can I keep track of other types of files such as "Loans" and "Warranty Repair"?

How do I set this up?

Thanks,
Maisie

QuickBooks will track ALL the financial activity of a business.

I would encourage you to hire a QB ProAdvisor to help you with basic accounting training and get you going in the right direction in QB.

Hi,

QB can track all of your financial data such as the Loans you mentioned, etc. It all depends on how you structure your G/L and the process procedures you put in place for tracking the information. If you currently have an accountant or CPA, they could possibly help you structure your G/L and may be able to provide some insight into how QB processes transactions such as Loans, Loan payments, interest on those loans, etc.

I hope that this helps you.

Cheers,
Ellen Lucas, CIERP

I guess I forgot to mention that the "Loans" are not financial, they are loans of items to whomever.

That is the type of thing I was wondering if QB can track

No, I don't want you to hire me. You would be better served with a local QB ProAdvisor who can sit down with you and help you with the particular details of your company.

So these loans of items - is this part of your business? Do you get any compensation? What do you need to track? Who has what and when it's supposed to come back?

I would say that QB is probably not very well suited to that kind of activity, but again, a consultant who could get into the details of what you're looking for might be able to come up with some system within QB.
