Sales tax calculation incorrect

When entering sales receipts with ofsetting debits and credits the sales tax calculates wrong.
Auto sale with ofsetting trade in with $120.00 taxable balance QB calculates 6% tax at $11.59 which I cannot overide. I must enter ofsetting misc entry to get zero balance.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you right, but make sure your offsetting item (your trade-in) is also showing taxable.
