Exporting Chart of Accounts

This is a stupid question, but how can I export my chart of accounts into excel?

How are you exporting? There are 2 ways: Use the grey "Excel" button just above the report, or use "Print to file" under the Print Report menu. The latter is a little trickier - you have to be sure to pick "Tab" or "Comma" delimited to get all the data in each field, and then you have to convert the data to excel. (Sometimes I do use this, however, because you don't get sometimes annoying QB column formatting). If you haven't already done so, try exporting using the grey button. If this doesn't work, I am stumped.

Exporting Chart of Accounts

I don't see an "excel" button above the report. Maybe I'm doing this all wrong. So far I have opened the chart of accounts by clicking on the icon in the tool bar. I tried the printing with tab delimited thing too and it only gave me options to print to pdf or my printer. Sorry I'm not getting it, but it is Friday after all...been a long week... Thanks for any help you can give me.

You actually have to create a report, not try to use the actual chart of accounts. Go to Reports, Lists, then Accounts List. Modify it the way you like and then export it by clicking on the export button at the top of the report.

Smile exporting Chart of Accounts

Well now don't I feel embarrased - I've been that route and didn't expand my listing to show full accounts.

Thanks for the patience!
