Sales taxes not calculating correctly

I enter a sales tax percentage but it is not calculating the right amount. I enter the tax code beside the item. When there is only one item, it calculate correct, but if I have more than one the it does not???

I have QB Contractor Edition.

Any suggestions?

Do all of your item have the tax code box checked to charge tax on them? Go to List - item List- click on the item and make sure it has tax listed in the tax code box.

Sales taxes not calculating correctly

I have Sta for state sales tax or LST for Local and State sales tax. Some items have state tax only and some items have local and state sales tax.

If you have different tax rates for different items, then you're going to have to group the items at one rate together on the invoice, enter a subtotal and then enter the appropriate tax code as a line item rather than at the bottom of the invoice.

Then do your next batch of items for the next rate, subtotal and select that tax code.

That should work for you.
