Unhappy receipt printer for cash sales

has anyone combined an epson 710 receipt printer and quickbooks ver 8 would like to use as cash sale printer. form designer appears not to allow printers 40 characters wide,???

It just might be possible. If you set up a new template, you have the ability to set up a size paper to be used with that template. You would need to set up the template to fit on a piece of paper only 40 ch wide. Save the template and hook up the printer.
The only other issue is the printer itself. Is it a parallel printer or a serial printer. QuickBooks will be able to talk to a parallel printer, but I duobt it can talk to a serial printer.
