How to start job costing mid job?

Good Morning Helpful Humans,
I am in the process of setting up our 10+ year old file to allow for job costing moving forward.
We are about 3 months into a year long job. Some material that has been entered has been tied to the job - but not all. Some labor (done through QB payroll) has been tied to the job - but not all. Is there anyway to general journal entry something so I can make the job costing match our current actual? Or would I need to go through all old labor and material expenses to tie them to the project?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
