Restoring a backup file didn't convert it to a .qbw file

I received some files from a friend who uses a Mac, so when he sent me some Quickbooks backup files they first needed to be converted.

It went fine and I got into the file. The problem is when I try to access the file again (after I close out of it). It didn't change from a .qbb to a .qbw file (when converting), so it can't be opened.

Does anyone know why this happened? Why aren't the files converting from .qbb to .qbw?

I am quite sure it is not meant to "convert' a file from QBB to QBW but creates a new file with the QBW suffix.

Did the "Restore" not ask you for file name and location??

Make sure that Mac stored int .QBB format, they ue to just SAVE the file in Windows format so then you would edit the file name and change the extension to .QBW.

It might be your Mac received files doesn’t get converted from .qbb. Instead of file conversion QuickBooks mistakenly create new files with .qbw extension. So, first save your Mac received files (.qbb) in Windows format, and then edit it.
