Quickbooks PDF converter

Trying to save a statement as a pdf, i.e., print to a pdf (there is no option to save as pdf in the file menu). When selecting the printer as Quickbooks pdf converter it says that it is not active. Clicking further in asks for an activation code.

Do I need to buy this? Why would it list it as a option if I have to buy another piece of software?

To save hassle, I downloaded CutePDF driver (free) and then just print using it instead of the QB one.
