Creating New Company File from Old


I am using QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 2014 (R14P) and want to create a new company file using a backup copy of the old file. I have read that you can do this by restoring a backup copy and removing all the transactions in one batch, rather than individually. However, when I go to File > Utilities, there is nothing there to let me do this that I can see, for example no opportunity to 'condense data' even. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you want a clean file with the same customers, inventory, vendors, CoA etc

use menu file>utilities>export>lists to iif files
select the lists you want in the new file, save it

create a new company file, use the same menu and import

no transactions will be in the new file
