Wink Item in Sales Receipt

Hello,

I am with a charitable organization. I would like to create Items in the Sales Receipts as I receive donations.

When I click on Item, a list suitable only for profitable organizations pop up. For instance, Service, Non-inventory part, discount, payment, etc.

I would like to create my own Items for a non profit. How can I do this??

Thanks.

use a service item, name it donation, select the donation income account on the item screen and use that on the sales receipt to record donations

service item - something you do that gets you income
non inventory - an expense item by default and can be set to both buy and sell the item, something that is not stocked in other words
inventory - something you order and keep on hand to sell

Just a little bit more:

To edit item list on the Invoice form, click on List on the top menu bar and select Item List.

When the Item List opens, click on the ITEM icon on the left side of the bottom row. This is where you edit your ITEM list.

You can add a new item, edit an existing item or delete an existing item. I strongly urge you not to delete an existing item but to select the option for making it inactive. You may find it desirable to print out your chart of accounts before editing items.

Caution: You must connect an item with an account in your chart of accounts. If you haven’t done so, you may be find it desirable to use account numbers.
