The point is, which of those two workers does THIS example better match, the true employee or the plumber (IC).

Correct, if someone calls an employee an IC, they will get in trouble. That's been my point this whole time.

The original poster needs to really make sure these are legitimate ICs. That's my point. We don't know for sure what their exact relationship is, and that is the info needed to make the distinction.

Thanks guys!

I'm currently using QB Self-Employed and that its something that freelancer's use and does not apply to me anymore. I definitely need to upgrade to QB online and I will setup an appointment with my CPA to figure out how this all should be setup because I want to set it up correctly and not have issues with IRS later on.
ICs are not my employees.
