Big Al's Reconciliation problem

Last month I deleted several proviously reconciled checks that were incorrectly dated. They were all dated in January 2010 and should have been dated for checks issued in 2009. I re-created the checks and properly dated them to the previous year. The problem is, now my beginning balance for this month is off by the amount of the deleted checks. When I re-recreated the checks and entered them I clicked them off as though they were reconciled but apparently QB's is not recognizing this? How can I fix this?

The beginning balance will be off by the amount of those checks, but if you continue on into the bank rec, you'll see them there checked off. Just go on with your reconcilation and it should come out correctly.

And in the future - just change the date, no need to delete and re-create.

Now - one other issue - you've changed your 2009 accounting. I hope your accountant didn't do your 2009 taxes before you made these changes.
