QuickBooks Customer Manager vs. ACT

Had someone ask about this. Any comments comparing the two?

I recently gave QB Customer Manager a try - I had a free licence years ago, of version 1. I quite liked it - simple and effective. But I cannot seem to get a newer version, or an additional licence - I think it isn't available in the UK any more.

I have only a little experience of Act, it seemed one of applications that could do 20 times as much as I want, with all the inevitable complications. And it's owned by Sage, which immediately puts me off.

I use QB Customer Manager v.2.5 Desktop with QB Pro 2006, Windows XP. I am not sure if Customer Manager will even work with QB 2010 on Vista or Windows 7. Customer Manager is a much simpler program than ACT, which was much too complicated for my one man company. CM syncs basic Customer Information with QB but not any of the Project/Job info. which makes the sync feature basically useless for me [a Contractor].
