unable to login as admin

I have multiple companies on QuickBooks Pro desktop and just got an error when attempting to open a company "The attempt to long in with the user name "Admin" failed. This user is already logged into the company file. If possible, try logging in using a different user name." I am the only person who uses this company and QuickBooks. What can I do to fix this?

I've had that experience a few times. Here's what worked for me.

Try the following:
  1. Start Task Manager to see is there is a version of QuickBooks running that you can close.
  2. If that doesn't work, reboot.
