Question QB 2003 Network Setup

Hi

I would like to find out how to setup QB 2003 if I want 2 PCs to access the data that resides on only one PC (over a LAN, naturally). Is it possible to to just share a folder on the 1st PC that contains the data and then point the QB application (installed on the 2nd PC) to the shared folder on the 1st PC? If so, would both PCs be able to access the data at the same time?

Eagerly awaiting your words of wisdom.

You've got the gist.

Use the better PC (processor speed, memory and disk speed mainly) to hold the company file - this is the Host. Create a Mapped Network Drive on the other one (the Guest) pointing to the Host's QB company folder.

To have both using QB at the same time you'll need two licenses, and you'll need to be in multi-user mode (File - Switch to multi-user mode). There are a few things you can only do in single user mode.

Let the Host be the one to do the verifies and backups. The Guest can do backups, but verifies will take ages.
