QuickBooks User News - July 2004

I registered recently with quickbookusers.com since I am a new owner and user of QuickBooks Pro 6.0 for the Mac. This issue of the User News was the first that I have received.

After reading through it, I concluded that all the articles are intended for PC users since none mentioned which platform was being referred to.

In particular, the lead article entiitled "Performance Tip for Non-Techies" is most assuredly intended for Microsoft Windows users since it does not apply to users like myself who are running our QB software on Macintosh OS X 10.

As a new QB user, I am quite disappointed in your assumption that your only readers are Windows users. I'll hang in for a while, but if the coverage doesn't improve, I see no reason to stick around.

Please don't go!

It's true that the vast majority of QB users are PC - like most of the rest of the world we're lumbered with Big M - but most of the questions and answers on the forum are not related to the OS, they're about making QB jump through the right accounting and administrative hoops for users' businesses. I sympathise with your gripe that people don't usually mention either their platform or (more important) their version of QB, but all the same, there are many interesting and useful threads. Try posting a question about something you'd like to get QB to do for you and see what happens - don't forget to mention both that you're a Mac user, and which version of QB you're using.
