Companies Disappeared

I just started using Pro 2012 this week and have processed transactions for three companies. When I opened QB today to look at the transactions, the companies are now where to be found They do not show up in Open Company or Open Previous Company. Any idea where the files went?

I'm pretty sure they are still on your computer.
Why they disappeared from the Open Company or Open Previous Company I'm not sure, unless your files are on a network, and the server went down.
If you don't know where the files are stored, then using Windows Explorer search for *.qbw

Then using Open Existing Company, browse to the location found and open the file, you will have to do this for each company.

Also make sure you have at least the number 3 in the Open Previous Company window, as a limit.

Thank You qbqcca,

I was able to retrieve the missing files thanks to your suggestion. Is 20 the maximum number of companies allowed in QB?

Your very welcome, I'm happy I was able to help.

Actually you can have as many companies as you have disk space for, and also on other network computers.
But you will only be able to see the last 20 companies you opened in the Open Previous Company Window.
