Quickbooks freezing hourly

environment:
5-10 user Quickbooks enterprise (contractor edition 15.0) all running Windows 7 pro.
Users connect to a shared drive on a VM Windows 2012 server where the QB files are located.
1 Quickbooks "user" runs automated on a Virtual Machine Windows 7 pro workstation that runs a script every 10 minutes. The script gathers information from another source and inputs those items into Quickbooks as needed.

The 5 primary users experience a freezing in Quickbooks 1 minute after the hour, every hour, without exception. Sometimes Quickbooks freezes for just a few seconds, sometimes a little longer. Nothing else on any of the workstations has any issues during this time, just Quickbooks.

Disabling the script on the VM has had no effect, but killing Quickbooks and/or its services on the VM did at one point resolve the issue. Currently cannot find the magic combination to reliably recreate the success though.

At this point I'm hoping anyone could share any suggestions.

Thank you in advance for anything you might offer.

QB freezes at 1 minute after the hour

We're running QB Enterprise Manufacturing 15.0 and experience the same problem, our system freezes at 1 minute after the hour, every hour.

After further testing, we have discovered that this only occurs on one of our 4 QB company files. Any other companies that are open, operate fine. Regardless of # of users logged in, which workstations are in the various company files, multiple companies open at the same time, etc. It always leads back to one specific company file.

We have noticed that the .TLG file is on the large size of 6GB and the QBW file is 1.7GB. We are going to try to do some backup/verify and purge to get the TLG file down to managable file size. The other company files are a small fraction of this size.

Just in case anyone else comes across this problem in search of an answer.

Resetting the transaction log file [.TLG] resolved the issue of quickbooks freezing every hour.

Any intuit support rep can walk you through the procedure, but essentially just back up quickbooks from within the software. Then rename the .TLG file to something and when quickbooks launches it will create a new one.

Good luck.
