Understanding Date Ranges in Reports

Recently, I needed to run a report showing all the transactions of a certain type and in a certain range of time. I set the parameters in the report tool and ran the report. This resulted in showing ALL the defined transactions over the five year period we have used QuickBooks, not the period I defined. I tried this a few more times and got the same results.

The attached photo show an example of this. I have searched my account for all the annual dues payments I made in the period 12/01/2017 to 1/1/2018. (I'm actually a life-honors member and have not made dues payment since 2015.) but as you can see, the report shows all the payments I made back to 2011; not the range I searched.

How do I run these reports so that they search the period I defined?

A photo of my screen with the report and the setup is posted at https://1drv.ms/i/s!AiR9KzpBmPls0E25kquqKSRvZou5. Isn't a bit unreasonable that you can't directly ATTACH an image to the forum!!!!!!!

You can post images hosted on another site, inserted as below with wrapping your hosted image.

People are never real keen about clicking to a link.

It's a Microsoft Onedrive link. What's with not being able to directly attach a photo? I tried ten times - it just would not work.

Working Now

OK, this is a stupid answer but here goes. I was working from a report I built a while back to do something else. Try as I might, the date ranges would not work. I opened another report, which I did not build and I don't use it, I changed the fields to meet the criteria I needed to find including the date range. It pulled up the information perfectly. Why would one report behave very differently than another report?

Have you compared the filters from one query to the other?

Have you verified that the size of a jpg that you want to attach is smaller than the size of a jpg allowed on this board?

Yes. I set the filter in the report exactly as in the report that would not work. One works, one pulls up ever transaction for as long as we have had QB. It's a puzzle but at least I now have a work-around - don't start with that old report.

As for the JPG, yes I saw the limitation of 100kb. My file is 168kb - that is probably the issue, but this is just a screen shot. How could you reasonably make this any smaller?
