added non-inventory part(item) by mistake

Hi all.

I have added a non-inventory item, and assigned the "inventory asset" account to it. How can I remove this item? I am trying to add an inventory item with the same name, but it says the name already exists(as the non-inventory item).

Thanks in advance.

Edit the non-inventory item by adding an * after it's name and then create the inventory item.
You can then delete it after locating all of the transactions it is used on and replacing it with the new item.

Thanks for the reply, Joe.

I couldn't find the non-inventory item in the items list. Where would I be able to find it, so that I can delete it? I don't know where it was save to. Thank you.

The item list may show it as Parts type. Make sure that you check the Show All for the list.

Thanks Joe. I found the item. It was in the items list, but at the bottom of the list.
