Print standard #10 envelope

It would be nice to have a macro to print a standard #10 envelope using the vendor or the customer list info

Did you ever try Microsoft Word?
I export my customer list to a txt file. Then do a mail merge and set it up with the envelope. The when I need an envelope, I open Word, use the Find for the customer and I print 1 envelope. If you make changes in Qbks, export you customer list again and overwrite the customer txt file, and when you open your envelope Word doc, the changes will be there.
Setting up the envelope doc for the first time is a little bit of a challenge. But after you have it setup, it works OK.

Try the search feature on this forum for printing envelopes. I saw something within the last 6 months that someone has set up a template by modifying an invoice that would print envelopes. I don't rmember how it was done, but they did explain the procedure.

I was already using word envelope option and have my frequent addresses as contacts in outlook, but you would think quickbooks would have an option to print envelopes for vendors or customers. By the way I did find that post, it was for creating a template in word. I did try it, it did work. It was a viable workaround. Apparently after searching here, I am not alone wishing there was an envelope option. Yes window envelopes work OK, but sometimes we hand write checks and wish the envelope was printable. I checked Quicken and it has an envelope printing option..same company as quickbooks??? Thanks for those replies, it is nice to see people helping each other..

I agree, envelopes would be a nice feature. As it is, I usually print a label from Quickbooks, but that really doesn't look as good (for some things).

Printing Envelopes

Actually, I can provide a free download link, that prints the envelope and the invoice or what ever, directly from Quickbooks!

I tried the download. It requires Windows 2000 or better.

Thumbs up Transform Download

Thank you so much for giving it a try. I apologize for not noticing the Windows 98 SE under your sig line. Yes, you need 2000 or XP. When we set out on the project, we felt that by the time we were completed, the installed base of 98 or lower would be a small minority. The print engine for 98 is quite different than the new method. Please let me know if you have plans to upgrade.

Printing Envelope Addresses

I use standard window envelopes for things besides invoices and statements and don't always want all the invoice information printed just to get an address insert.
What I did in QB Basic was went to View>Templates and created a new invoice template, then customized it so that only the sender and "to" fields print. I usually recycle waste paper, so I can use that to print an insert that lines up perfectly with my window envelopes. I guess I'm lazy, but I find it far easier than printing from Word. I am running Win98SE right now, but considering changing to a Mac.
