Hello, QB world
My user name says it all. My name is Jim and I just today installed QB Pro 2012 on my 2011 iMac. To do that bit of magic, I installed Parallels 7 (a virtual machine program) and Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. After making sure that combination didn't crash my machine, I then installed QB. So far everything works! Peaceful coexistence between Cupertino and Redmond.
I went through these gyrations because I'm helping my daughter with her new consulting business. Her accountant STRONGLY recommended the Windows version of QB. It would make his side of the deal better (and thus, cheaper, hint hint) for quarterly reviews and edits of my misplaced entries. I learned all about debits and credits in college back in the quill and parchment days and I'm glad that QB hides them under that nice interface. Now I just got to set up the accounts properly. You betcha. So, I am glad to be a noob on this site and will undoubtedly have questions to post for more experienced folks to help me with. And I'll return the favor someday when I figure out what I'm doing!

Welcome!
Have you guys considered QuickBooks Online at all? Since it's over the web, it wouldn't matter if you accessed it from a mac or a pc

I did look at the online versions and decided against them because: 1) I don't need mobile access and 2) within a year, the "rental" cost exceeds the purchase price. Of course, I had to pay a bit more to allow the iMac to run Windows, but that can come in handy for the next time I need to run a Windows program.
