2 Merchant Account and 1 company
I am having a problem that I didn't see addressed anywhere. Our company is set up as a corporation which has just started a new division under a DBA.
I contacted Quickbooks and they recommended using the "Class" system. I created the classes and made the appropriate changes. So far so good as we can run a single P & L and Balance Sheet. Now our company has created a separate website for the DBA business with a new and separate Merchant Account.
Quickbooks now advised me that I can only have 1 Merchant account feed directly into my Quickbooks Premier program. I had installed the Quickbooks Plug in for the shopping cart, but I can not get it to link to my company file and inventory as the other Merchant Account is already using apparently the one and only "portal" if you will.
So I am now advised to create another company (which I have) eventhough it has the same FEIN #. I have it all set up except it is not linked to the Merchant Account yet. I want to make sure that this is my ONLY option. I think this may solve my Merchant account problem, but then how do I merge the financials at year's end to give to our accountant for tax preparation? I don't want to go and spend $2000 to be able to combine files? Does anyone know of another option? Thanks in advance
