Ending Balance and Cleared Balance the same

Hello,

I was reconciling my books and when I finished the ending balance and the cleared balance was the same causing it to add. However, when I started out beginning balancing it was correct and still show the correct. The cleared checks are right and the deposits are right but for some reason the cleared and balance amounts ending being the same and added together causing me to be out of balance, it did not go to zero.

Not sure if I understand. If the Beginning Balance of reconcile is correct and all of the transactions on the bank Statement match QuickBooks checked transactions screen, the Cleared Balance and Ending Balance should match the statement's Ending Balance.
This should give a 0.00 difference amount and reconcile should not give an amount for "correction".

Could it be your closing Balance is an overdraft, and you didn't put a minus in front of the amount?

Sorry I confused everyone. The bank statement is matching but I have a different instead of zero and it appears that the clear balance was added twice giving me a difference when everything checks out.

Back off the recon, then redo it and at each step watch the balances and results. That should point out the error.
