OMG Where do you start
While QB has a lot of features, it's amazing how poorly it is designed.
As suggested in many posts on the internet, I setup Petty Cash account and paid bills using the check method. When I run the Vendor Balance Detail report it shows bills I paid with Cash as paid by Check. Get out the rolling papers. When I list Vendor Bill Transactions, there is no way to list which invoice the expense was billed to, how it was paid or which job it is associated with unless you pull them up one at a time to look at the bill details. I'm I crazy? Wouldn't you want to list the Bills and see the status of each one in a list format? Roll a fatty and light up. It boggles the mind that common sense is trumped by some lazy/crappy development and design. So I might as well get stoned and be on the same wave length as the software team for intuit. Since I haven't used other products, I have no idea if there is something else out there that is better but I am convinced there is room for another software company to take on Intuit/QB and kick there ass. |

While I'm Ranting...
Another POS design is deleting or voiding invoices with reimbursed expenses.
Why doesn't QB popup an option to make the items billable if voiding/deleting? Their solution is to manually change the status. Lots of issues there. Did I miss any of the expense items, did I mark the wrong ones? QB 2012 and that is the best they can offer after all this time? One word comes to mind - pathetic!! |

Wow mhsmith53,
I don't think you will ever be able to get over the attitude you have about QB. This will get in the way of implementing a good system. You should move to something else before you invest much more effort in a QB solution, with which you in all probably never be happy. Speaking for myself, QB seems to follow the rules that Mrs Carson drilled into my head in the Bookkeeping class she taught me in HS. Of course that was all done with pencil and columnar paper.
