Lost VAT file PLEASE HELP

My computer crashed after I filed VAT but before I backed up and I didnt think much of it until I went to submit VAT this month.

My VAT is showing a balance of last quarters net balance of VAT and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. IS there any way of making Quickbooks thinking I've submitted it? Please help as I'm overdue already whoops!!

Are you sure you filed the VAT before the system crashed? If the balance is exactly the amount that you thought you filed it is possible you didn't actually file it.

Bring up the VAT 100 report for the previous period and see if the figures are still there, in which case go ahead and file them if they match the figure you thought you filed.

Then back it up!

Then file the quarter you want to file.

I filed the last quarter as I have the print out. My computer crashed a couple of days later and I hadn't backed up since filing. I was wondering if there is a way of making quickbooks think I have submitted without me resubmitting?
