Question can i see a copy of your template?

Can you post a quick image of what your template ended up looking like?

This sounds like it's right up my alley for making a deposit slip for my church which is just starting. We have very limited cashflow to spend on miscellaneous office supplies like deposit slips, custom checks, etc. So I am trying to find inexpensive options like this.

I have read that when using the MICR Encoding there is specific placement for it and even magnetic ink that can be used in some inkjets to make it scannable. Did you do that?

1. Download the Quickbooks Deposit Slip template from http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...102094197.aspx
2. Download the MICR Encoding font for adding the bank routing and account number from http://www.searchfreefonts.com/free/micr-encoding.htm
3. Unzip and install the font.
4. Edit the template to include your information
5. Print it out as a PDF File (save the template as a PDF File you will use as a background)

Then when I printed my Deposit Slipas an Adobe PDF File, I then opened the Deposit Slip, applied a background (that I created earlier), and then I had my Deposit Slip that I could print on regular paper

The link to the MS Word template is no longer valid. If anyone has it and would not mind sharing it I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Nice there's some great info here, thanks all.

It really is ridiculous that Intuit tries to force you to buy their deposit slips.. Way too expensive for such an unnecessary thing.

I guess that's the way it is, but gee whiz..

quickbooks deposit tickets

It's been 3 years - I'm thinking I'm pretty late. Go to qtools.com, download their program; you will never buy another deposit ticket again

yes you can

Go to qtools.com
Download: qslip
use it for 30 days free before you have to buy it, then it's only $25.00
You make that in the first year because you need not purchase preprinted deposit tickets anymore.

You will need to download TRANSIT NUMBER SYMBOLS to your font folder. Once done, the drop down menu in Qslip can highlight MICR fonts.

There's a link in one of the posts to MICR fonts. Then you can encode plain paper with the routing #, account #, etc and you're set to go.

You can even deposit 73 or more checks at a time.

I'm telling you, this is a terrific program and is made for Quickbooks.
