Inventory List Problems
We are a nursery and we want to input a new inventory list, the old one was set up incorrectly and now the average cost of the plants are wrong and affecting our P&L report. I wanted to see if there was a way to change just the average cost of the item or if I can delete the item list and start over (which would be better). But when I try to delete an item it tells me we can't because it is in use on a transaction.
What can I do to get rid of the item that has the average costs that are wrong? Do i make them inactive and re-put it in. |

QuickBooks Point of Sale is one of the most popular inventory application that can resolve this problem. Are you using QuickBooks or any other application for inventory management on your local desktop or remote desktop?

If you want to change the cost of an inventory item, you can create a new vendor "Z In House" ( to keep at bottom of vendor list) and use on a new bill that has the item with the full quantity on hand and the current value (Total Cost) as negatives then on the next line enter the correct quantity and total value as a positive amounts.

I am not using any other type of inventory management, we are in the process if setting that up as well through quickbooks, inventory is done "old school" right not using hand counts.
Thank You for the help on changing the cost, I will try it out. |
